Baxi VS Worcester: Which Should I Choose?

When faced with needing a new boiler, there’s a lot for you to get your head around. When our boilers pack up, we know we need to get them replaced quickly so we’re not without heat or hot water for long, but it’s also important to feel happy with our decision because it’s such an important purchase.

Two of the most popular boiler manufacturers in the UK are Baxi and Worcester, so if you’re boiler shopping it’s probably these names you’ll hear the most. But which one should you go for? We offer some guidance below.

Both are leading UK boiler manufacturers with solid reputations and good independent reviews.  You can view Worcester reviews here and Baxi reviews here. Both brands perform very similarly!

When it comes to building a reputation, Worcester has a reputation for a more premium design, so their parts may last longer than Baxi’s do. Worcester have made a UK best buy list, as well as being recommended for 10 years by Which?.

Both Baxi and Worcester-Bosch are considered extremely energy-efficient. They are endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust (EST) and are A-rated for efficiency. Energy efficiency ratings range from A-G with A being the most efficient.

As a result of buying a Baxi or Worcester-Bosch boiler, you’ll use less energy, help the planet and probably save on your heating bills too.

Baxi is considered a less expensive or cheaper brand, whereas Worcester is considered more premium. Worcester Bosch is an award-winning and market-leading brand, and therefore it is undeniably more costly than Baxi in general. However, this is all dependent on the model of the boiler you choose. Many people say you get what you pay for, with the quality of a product often reflected in its price.

Baxi has a range of warranties offered with their boilers, which can vary depending on the boiler you choose and who installs it. With Worcester, we offer warranties of up to 10 years as well as 0% finance on selected models, offering you extra peace of mind and the chance to spread the cost of your purchase.

Many potential boiler purchasers are also concerned about the boiler's size and whether it fit inside the kitchen cupboard. This is especially significant for homeowners who have a restricted amount of space. Small boilers such as the Worcester Bosch Greenstar and the Baxi 600 are designed and built to be fitted in compact places.

Our Verdict

Despite the fact that both companies have been established for decades and have thousands of great customer ratings, we believe Worcester Bosch has the upper hand.

In addition, Worcester also provides a fantastic choice of boilers in various power outputs and sizes, such as the Greenstar Compact, which is perfect for kitchen cabinets.
