What happens during a boiler service in Redditch?

Getting your boiler serviced, once a year helps ensure that it is running safely and efficiently. During a boiler service, a heating engineer performs a few tests on your central heating system.

So, what exactly happens during a boiler service?

Before we get into the details of what happens during a service, make sure the engineer hire is fully qualified to carry out the service.  The engineer must Gas Safe registered if your boiler is gas. Make sure to ask to see an ID card to verify their details.

Carry out a visual inspection

Carrying out a visual assessment helps us understand that your boiler is continuing to meet your needs as well as meeting the regulations. Our heating engineers will also check other things such as the flame inside your boiler and any signs of corrosion or leaks. 

Thoroughly check inside the boiler

We first remove the outer casing of your boiler to take a look at the components inside your boiler. We will also make sure it is cleaned and tested to see if components such as the main injector, heat exchanger and spark probes are working correctly. 

Additional checks

Other checks such as flue checks and gas pressure checks will be carried out to ensure there is no obstruction and everything is properly secured. 

Finally, turning the boiler back on

Once your boiler passes our test, we will turn the boiler back on so we can test to see if any issues occur when your boiler is turned on.
