What is the Gas Safe Register? The reason for this is that only Gas Safe registered engineers are trained and qualified to carry out work involving gas appliances. What is the Gas Safe Register? The Gas Safe Register is a list of all UK businesses that have undergone strict training, have their work regularly checked against safety standards and are legally qualified to work with gas appliances such as gas boilers, cookers/ovens, fires. Upon inspection, if the engineer's work is found to be sub-standard and below the expectations of Gas Safe, the engineer can be suspended or completely removed from the register.
